Have you exhausted all of your resources to love and be loved in your partnership?

I thought I had.  But it wasn't true.  I was simply feeling vulnerable, exhausted and hurt.  I was deeply afraid it wouldn't work out and that it would mean that I was no longer capable of loving another person or letting anyone back into my heart.

I'm sitting here today with a heart full of love, feeling cherished, adored and appreciated by my partner (most of the time!).  What happened?  What did it take?  I promise to share these reconnection secrets for years to come.  But first...

So many couples believe something is wrong with us. Or, one partner develops an enemy image of the other, believing something is wrong with them, not meThis is the voice of fear.  Your partner becomes a tiger in your mind's eye, a powerful threat to your existence.

It's okay to be afraid that things won't work out, that your relationship will crumble. It's not okay to let this fear make your relationship decisions. If we can move from the voice of fear to the voice of faith and courage, there is so much that can be done when we are most worn out in our relationships.  Yet so many of us give up before trying because we fear turning towards that which we perceive to be the cause of pain.

It's counterintuitive.  Step towards the threat?  Approach the scary tiger?

And this is the story of love...we walk towards it even when it hurts.  It takes courage knowing that we are risking everything for connection and intimacy.  Love has no guarantees and yet the voice of faith pulls us towards the desire for something deeper and lasting, maybe even eternal.

When both couples become the tiger, it can be a disaster for the couple yet often I meet one partner who is the relational leader carrying the courage to step towards love even though the other partner is resistant, shutdown or hopeless.  And this is the story I wish to share...

In this audio episode of Wildly Connected, I share the story of "The Tiger's Eyelash" from Women Who Run with the Wolves by Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estés.  This is a story of patience, acceptance and invitation.

I invite you to drink in the message of this story...growth happens with invitation, patience, and acceptance.  Growth is not to be forced. Become the model, the relational leader who invites your couple to growth without forcing your partner to change.

Work with your own fears...

Go on a pilgrimage to find your own resource...

Gather your own courage...

Become an expert on taming the tiger...

Invite the tiger to the table...

And watch your partnership grow and evolve before your eyes.

When you practice listening to the voice of courage you become better and better at hearing it, especially during relational challenges.

If you're ready to do some personal work, like I did, apply to work with me. I am currently offering limited 1:1 VIP Days for individuals and 2:1 VIP Days for couples.  I only work with growth-oriented people who are ready to make waves and transform their lives and relationships.
